Disclaimer
We are an independent information site, not a utility. This page sets out exactly what that means for the figures, processes and advice you find here — and where the authoritative version lives instead.
We are not SSGC
ssgconlinebill.com is not Sui Southern Gas Company Limited. We are not affiliated with SSGC, not endorsed by SSGC, not acting on SSGC's behalf, and not connected to OGRA, the Ministry of Energy, or any government department in Pakistan.
We are a privately run information site that explains SSGC billing, tariffs, processes and safety in plain language, using publicly available information.
Any SSGC name, logo or trademark referred to on this site remains the property of its owner and is used only to identify the company being described — which is the ordinary, factual use of a name, not a claim of association.
SSGC's official website is ssgc.com.pk. Its universal help line is 1199. For anything that affects your actual account, those are the authoritative sources, not this site.
We cannot act on your account
To be completely unambiguous, we cannot:
- Look up, retrieve, correct or reissue your bill
- Accept a payment, or process one on SSGC's behalf
- Reverse a late payment surcharge, waive an amount, or adjust a reading
- Apply for, approve, expedite or transfer a gas connection
- Register, escalate, chase or resolve a complaint with SSGC
- Access any SSGC system, record or database
What we can do is explain how each of those processes works, which channel handles it, and what a request needs to contain to be actionable. That is the whole service this site provides.
Tariff figures and calculator results are estimates
This is the most important practical limitation on this site, and it appears on every tool for a reason.
Our calculators model the published structure of a domestic SSGC bill: consumption slabs as notified by OGRA, fixed charges, meter rent, GST, and the late payment surcharge. That structure is real, and understanding it genuinely helps.
But a calculator cannot see:
- Arrears carried forward from a previous month
- Adjustments, corrections or credits applied by SSGC
- Estimated readings where a meter was not physically read
- Your actual heating value for the month, which varies by region and period
- Rate changes notified after a page was last reviewed
- Category determinations — whether SSGC treats your connection as protected or non-protected is SSGC's determination, not a calculation
- Any charge specific to your connection that does not appear in the published domestic structure
Therefore: every figure produced by a calculator on this site is indicative only. It is a well-informed estimate of what a bill should look like given the inputs you provided. It is not a bill, not a quotation, and not a prediction.
The amount printed on your own SSGC bill is the amount you owe. Where our estimate and your bill disagree, your bill is correct and our estimate is not — and if you believe the bill itself is wrong, the route is a complaint to SSGC, described in our complaint guide.
Processes, documents and timelines change
Guides on this site describe processes as we understand them at the time of writing — the documents required for a new connection, the steps in a name transfer, the route to claim a security deposit refund, the escalation path for a complaint.
These vary in practice. Requirements differ between offices, additional documents are sometimes requested, timelines depend on workload and local conditions, and procedures are revised without announcement.
Treat every process description here as a guide to what to expect and prepare for, not a guarantee of what will happen. Always confirm current requirements with the office actually handling your case before relying on a list from this or any other third-party site.
Every guide carries the date it was last reviewed so you can judge how current it is likely to be.
Safety information is general, not a substitute for a professional
Our gas leak guide and safety checklist describe generally accepted safety practice for domestic natural gas. They are written carefully and we believe them to be sound.
They are not a substitute for inspection by a competent gas professional, and they cannot account for the specifics of your installation, appliances or building.
In an emergency — a smell of gas, a suspected leak, a fire risk, or symptoms suggesting carbon monoxide — leave the building and call 1199 from outside. Do not rely on a website to diagnose an emergency, and do not delay leaving in order to read one.
Gas fitting, meter work and appliance repair are not domestic DIY tasks. Nothing on this site should be read as encouraging you to work on gas pipework, a regulator, or a meter yourself. Interfering with a meter specifically carries serious legal and financial consequences, as our guide on tampering explains.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, tax, engineering or professional advice of any kind.
Where real money or a legal consequence is at stake — a large detection bill, a disputed assessment, a property transaction involving arrears, a dispute heading to a formal forum — get advice from a qualified professional. The cost of doing so is usually far smaller than the amount in question, and a case built properly at the start is much cheaper than one rescued later.
External links
This site links to external websites, including SSGC's official portal and website, OGRA notifications, payment providers, and emergency services.
We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Once you leave this site, the terms and privacy policy of the site you have gone to apply instead of ours.
Be particularly careful about where you enter a consumer number or make a payment. Use SSGC's own portal and the official payment channels described in our payment methods guide. We will never ask you to enter billing details on this site, and any third-party site claiming to collect SSGC bill payments outside official channels deserves your suspicion.
Accuracy, errors and corrections
We take accuracy seriously. Guides are written from primary sources, figures are checked, and pages are updated when rates or processes change.
Despite that, this site may contain errors, omissions or out-of-date information. We make no warranty — express or implied — that the content is complete, accurate, current or fit for any particular purpose.
If you find a mistake, please tell us. Reader corrections, particularly from people who have just been through a process, are the fastest way this site improves. Write to support@ssgconlinebill.com with the page and the specific detail, and we will check it and update the page.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ssgconlinebill.com and its publisher accept no liability for any loss or damage — including financial loss, surcharges, penalties, missed deadlines, disconnection, or any consequential loss — arising from your use of, or reliance on, information on this site.
You use this site on the understanding that decisions about your gas account, your payments and your safety remain yours, and that the authoritative sources for those decisions are your own bill, SSGC directly, and where relevant a qualified professional.
Advertising
This site displays third-party advertising to cover the cost of hosting and of researching and writing its content. Advertising has no influence over what we write, which processes we recommend, or which payment channels we describe.
We do not endorse advertised products or services, and an advertisement appearing on a page is not a recommendation by us. How advertising cookies work is explained in our privacy policy.
Changes
We may update this disclaimer as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version.
