Our position on copyright

Every guide, explanation, table and calculator on ssgconlinebill.com is original work written by us. We do not republish articles from other sites, and we do not reproduce SSGC's or anyone else's written material as our own content.

Where we refer to external material, we do so in the ordinary and lawful way: by describing it in our own words and linking to the source. Publicly listed factual information — help line numbers, office addresses, notified tariff rates — is reproduced as fact, with the source identified.

That said, mistakes are possible on any site, and if you believe something here infringes your copyright we want to hear about it and will deal with it promptly.

How to send us a copyright notice

If you own the copyright in material you believe has been reproduced on this site without authorisation, send a written notice to:

with "DMCA Notice" or "Copyright Notice" in the subject line.

What a valid notice must contain

To let us act on your notice quickly, please include all of the following. A notice missing these elements may be delayed while we ask for them.

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by one notice, a representative list is acceptable.
2. Identification of the material on this site that you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — the full URL of the page, and the specific paragraph, image, table or section concerned. "Somewhere on your site" is not actionable.
3. The location of your original work — a URL, publication reference, or other evidence establishing that the work is yours and was published earlier.
4. Your contact details: full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
7. Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

• We acknowledge receipt, normally within a few business days.
• We review the claim on its merits. Because our content is original, we check carefully whether the material identified is in fact ours, whether it is factual information not subject to copyright, or whether there has been a genuine error.
• Where a claim is valid, we remove or disable access to the material promptly, and we tell you what we have done.
• Where we believe the material is our own original work, factual public information, or a permitted use, we explain our reasoning to you rather than simply refusing.

We do not require a court order to act on a well-founded notice. We also do not remove original work on the strength of an assertion alone, since bad-faith notices against original content do happen.

Counter-notice

If material you posted or supplied has been removed following a notice and you believe the removal was mistaken or the material was misidentified, you may send a counter-notice to support@ssgconlinebill.com containing:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.

We will forward a valid counter-notice to the original complainant.

A note about bad-faith notices

Submitting a knowingly false claim of copyright infringement carries legal consequences and may make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

We take notices seriously and act on genuine ones quickly. We also keep a record of notices received, and we will not remove our own original work on the basis of an unsupported claim.

If someone has copied our content

Our guides are written from scratch, and they are copied more often than we would like — sometimes verbatim, sometimes lightly reworded.

Content on this site may not be republished, redistributed, translated or reproduced in whole or in substantial part, on a website, in an app, in a document, or in any other medium, without our written permission. This is set out in our Terms and Conditions.

What is permitted: short quotations for comment, criticism, review or news reporting, provided they are clearly attributed to ssgconlinebill.com with a working link to the page quoted.

What is not permitted: reproducing a guide or a substantial section of one, republishing our tables or calculator logic, rewording our content and presenting it as your own, or using our content in a way that implies we endorse you.

If you have copied our content, the simple fix is to remove it. If you would like permission to use something — for a genuinely useful purpose, with attribution — ask us at support@ssgconlinebill.com. We are not unreasonable about it.

Where content is copied and not removed on request, we pursue it through the host, the search engine and the advertising network serving the infringing site, as appropriate.

SSGC and Sui Southern Gas Company are the property of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited. Names of banks, payment providers, mobile wallets, government bodies and other organisations referred to on this site remain the property of their respective owners.

We use these names only to identify the organisations we are writing about, which is ordinary factual reference and not a claim of affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. We are an independent site with no connection to SSGC — see our Disclaimer.
