The short version

Before the detail, here is what actually matters to most visitors:

• We never ask for your gas consumer number, CNIC, meter number or bill details. No page on this site collects them. Where you need to enter a consumer number, we send you to SSGC's own official portal.
• Our calculators run entirely inside your browser. The numbers you type into the bill calculator, unit converter, meter reading calculator or late payment calculator are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Close the tab and they are gone.
• We have no user accounts, no logins and no newsletter. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no database of visitors.
• We do not sell data. We have no data to sell.
• Advertising on this site does use cookies, placed by third-party ad networks rather than by us. That is explained in full below, along with how to opt out.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to ssgconlinebill.com ("this site", "we", "us"). We are an independent publisher of information about Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) bills, tariffs and processes.

We are not SSGC, not affiliated with SSGC, and not connected to OGRA or any government department. Nothing in this policy describes how SSGC handles your data — for that, see SSGC's own privacy terms on their website.

Information you give us directly

There is only one way to send us information: by emailing us.

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to put in that email — your email address, your name if you sign it, and the content of your message. We use it to reply to you and, where you have reported a problem with a page, to fix that page. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not pass your message to anyone else.

Please do not email us your consumer number, CNIC, meter photographs or bill PDFs. We have no access to any SSGC system, so those details cannot help us help you, and we would rather not hold them at all. If your message needs a consumer number to make sense, it needs SSGC rather than us.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, this site is served by hosting infrastructure that keeps standard technical logs. These typically record the IP address of the request, the page requested, the time, the referring page, and basic browser and device information.

These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults. They are not used to build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to connect them to your identity.

What our calculators do and do not do

This deserves its own section because it is the part people most reasonably worry about.

All four calculators on this site — the bill calculator, the gas unit converter, the meter reading calculator and the late payment calculator — are client-side only. The arithmetic happens in JavaScript running in your own browser.

That means:

• The consumption figures, meter readings, amounts and dates you enter are never sent to our servers, because there is no server-side component to send them to. This site is published as static files.
• Nothing you enter is stored — not in a database, not in a log, not in a cookie.
• You could disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the calculators would still work.

The only thing this site remembers between visits is your light or dark theme preference, which is stored in your browser's own local storage under the key ssgc-theme. It never leaves your device and contains nothing but the word light or dark.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a website or a third party places in your browser. This site uses them in two distinct ways, and the distinction matters:

Our own use is minimal. We do not use cookies for analytics profiling or for advertising ourselves. The theme preference described above uses local storage, not a cookie, and is purely functional.

Third-party advertising uses cookies. The advertising displayed on this site is served by third-party ad networks, and those networks set and read cookies in your browser. We do not control those cookies and we cannot read them.

Third-party advertising

This site is free to use and carries advertising to cover hosting costs and the time it takes to research and write the guides.

Google AdSense and the DoubleClick DART cookie. Google is one of the third-party vendors that may serve ads on this site. Google uses the DART cookie to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to this site and other sites on the internet.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. This may include personalised advertising, where Google uses information about your browsing to select ads it considers relevant.

How to opt out of personalised advertising:

• Visit Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads to review and turn off personalised advertising from Google.
• Visit the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at optout.networkadvertising.org to opt out of a number of ad networks at once.

Opting out of personalised advertising does not remove advertising — you will still see ads, but they will be selected without using your browsing history.

Other third-party vendors. Third-party ad networks may also use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of their advertising and to personalise the ads you see. Each of those networks has its own privacy policy, which governs its own practices. We have no access to or control over cookies placed by third-party advertisers, and this Privacy Policy does not cover their practices.

If you wish to disable cookies entirely, you can do so through your browser's settings. Every major browser allows you to block or delete cookies, and to block third-party cookies specifically. Doing so will not break this site's calculators, which do not rely on cookies at all.

Links to other sites

This site links out to external sites, most importantly to SSGC's own official portal and website, to OGRA's notifications, and occasionally to payment providers and emergency services.

Once you follow a link away from this site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We have no control over the content or the privacy practices of any external site, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site where you are asked to enter personal or financial information.

In particular: when you enter your consumer number, that is happening on SSGC's site, under SSGC's privacy terms, not ours.

Children's privacy

This site is aimed at adults responsible for a household gas bill. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us at support@ssgconlinebill.com and we will delete it.

Data retention

Because we collect so little, retention is straightforward:

• Emails you send us are retained for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a record of corrections made to the site. You may ask us to delete your correspondence at any time.
• Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes, in line with standard hosting practice.
• Calculator inputs are never retained, because they are never transmitted.
• Your theme preference stays in your own browser until you clear your browser data.

Your choices

You can:

• Use this site without giving us anything. Every page, every guide and every calculator works without providing any information at all.
• Block or delete cookies through your browser settings, including third-party advertising cookies.
• Opt out of personalised advertising through the links in the advertising section above.
• Ask us to delete your correspondence by emailing support@ssgconlinebill.com.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Because we do not collect billing details, run accounts or hold payment information, there is no store of sensitive personal data here to be breached — which is a deliberate design choice rather than an accident.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent to us by email.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in how the site operates or in the advertising and analytics services it uses. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than communicated individually, since we have no mailing list to communicate through.
