How to Use the SSGC Customer Connect App: Step-by-Step Guide

Install, register and get real use out of the official SSGC Customer Connect app — adding multiple connections, downloading duplicate bills, tracking usage and fixing the errors people hit most.

Managing your gas bill is far easier than it used to be, and the SSGC Customer Connect App is the main reason. Whether you have misplaced the paper bill, want to know why last month cost so much, or simply want to pay before the due date without leaving the house, the app puts all of it in one place.

This guide walks through the whole thing in plain language: how to install it, how to register, how to add your customer number, how to pull a duplicate bill as a PDF, and how to fix the handful of errors that trip people up. Everything below is written from the perspective of someone standing there with a bill in one hand and a phone in the other.

The app is published by Sui Southern Gas Company itself for customers across Sindh and Balochistan. If you are tired of finding out about a bill after the due date has passed, or of queuing at a customer centre for a reprint, this is the fix.

Prefer not to install anything?

You do not have to. The same duplicate bill is available in a browser — see how to check your SSGC bill online. The app is more convenient month after month; the website is faster if you just need today's amount.

What you actually get out of the app

Eight things, and all of them are genuinely useful rather than feature-list padding:

  • View your SSGC bill any time — the current bill exists in SSGC's system from the day it is generated, well before the paper copy reaches you.
  • Download the duplicate bill as a PDF — the same document a counter would print, saved to your phone.
  • Monitor your gas consumption month by month, which is the only way to spot a problem early.
  • See billing history and due dates together, so you can tell whether a payment cleared.
  • Pay the bill through the payment options connected to the app.
  • Register complaints and track their status without sitting on a helpline.
  • Save several customer numbers under one login.
  • Use it on Android or iOS — the app exists for both.

The consumption history is the part most people ignore and shouldn't. A bill that looks wrong is very hard to argue about in the abstract; a bill that is three times the same month last year is a conversation with a starting point. Our meter reading calculator does the same job from your own readings if you want to cross-check.

Step-by-step: how to use the SSGC app

The whole process takes about five minutes, and you only do most of it once.

Step 1 — Download and install the app

  1. Open Google Play Store on Android, or the App Store on iPhone.
  2. Search for SSGC Customer Connect.
  3. Check the publisher before you tap install. There are look-alike listings; the genuine one is published by Sui Southern Gas Company.
  4. Tap Install and wait for the download to finish.

Step 2 — Open the app and sign up

  1. Tap the app icon once it has installed.
  2. Choose Sign Up if this is your first time.
  3. Enter your Customer Number, CNIC and email address.
  4. Set a password and tap Register.
  5. You will get a confirmation by email or SMS. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, check your spam folder before trying again — registering twice with the same email is what causes the "email already registered" error later.

Use an email address you actually read. It becomes your username, and it is also where a password reset would go.

Step 3 — Log in to your account

  1. Open the app again.
  2. Enter your email or username and your password.
  3. Tap Login.
  4. You land on your dashboard.

Step 4 — Add your customer number

  1. Tap Add New Connection.
  2. Enter the customer number printed on your bill.
  3. Save as many as you need — this is what makes the app worth having if you look after a parent's house, a rented flat or a shop as well as your own home.

How many digits is the customer number?

Most domestic accounts print a ten-digit consumer number, but the length is not identical on every bill or in every zone. Do not add or remove digits to make it fit — count the digits printed on your own bill and enter exactly those, without spaces or dashes. Getting one digit wrong is the single most common reason a bill "does not show".

Step 5 — View your current bill

Once a connection is added, the dashboard shows a bill summary for it:

  • the bill amount,
  • the due date,
  • previous payment history,
  • the current meter reading.

Tap Download PDF to save the bill. That PDF is the version to keep — it carries the reference numbers you would need for a dispute, and it is accepted anywhere a printed bill is.

Read the meter reading line while you are in there. Compare it against the digits on your actual meter. If the bill's present reading is well ahead of what your meter shows today, the month was probably billed on an estimate, and that is worth knowing before you pay. Our meter reading guide explains which digits count.

Step 6 — Pay your SSGC bill

  1. Tap Pay Bill.
  2. You will see the payment routes available to you — typically Easypaisa, JazzCash and online banking.
  3. Choose one, enter your details and complete the payment.
  4. Save the reference number. Keep it until the next bill shows the payment cleared.

Different channels post at different speeds. A bank app or wallet payment usually reflects quickly; cash paid at a counter can take a working day to reconcile. If you are inside the last 48 hours before the due date, use a digital channel — the surcharge is applied against the balance recorded at cut-off, not against your good intentions. The full comparison is in every way to pay an SSGC bill.

Why people moved to the app

The shift towards digital gas billing in Pakistan has been steady rather than dramatic, and the reasons are practical rather than technological:

  • Paperless bills. A bill that cannot be lost, rained on or delivered to the wrong door.
  • Faster payment. Paying from the sofa at 11 PM beats a queue at a customer centre, and the reference number is stored on your phone.
  • Consumption awareness. Once you can see monthly usage on a chart, cutting the bill stops being guesswork.
  • Complaint tracking. A complaint number you can look up beats calling to ask whether anything has happened.

Regularly checking the app also changes your relationship with the bill. Instead of finding out the total on the day it is due, you see it while there is still time to question it.

Common errors and how to fix them

Login failed. Check your internet connection first, then the password — and note that the password field is case-sensitive. If it still fails, use Forgot Password rather than trying a fifth time; repeated failed attempts can temporarily lock an account.

Bill not showing. Refresh the dashboard, then re-enter the customer number digit by digit against the printed bill. A freshly generated bill can also take a short while to appear. If the number is definitely right and the bill still does not appear, check it on the web portal — if it shows there but not in the app, it is an app problem; if it shows in neither, it is an account problem worth a complaint.

App crashes or freezes. Update to the latest version from the store, then restart the phone. If it still crashes, clear the app's cache (Android: Settings → Apps → SSGC → Storage → Clear cache) before reinstalling, so you do not lose the login.

Unable to register. Almost always because your email is already registered — often from an earlier attempt you have forgotten. Use Forgot Password with that email instead of creating a second account.

Payment made but bill still shows unpaid. Give it a full working day, then check the payment history tab. If the reference exists at your bank but not on the account, that is exactly the situation the complaint process is for — with the reference number, it is a straightforward correction.

Using the app to actually cut your bill

The app is a billing tool, but it is also the cheapest consumption monitor you will ever own.

  • Read the Usage History chart before deciding anything. Most households find one or two months carry a disproportionate share of the year's gas — and those are the months worth attacking.
  • Avoid heavy use in peak hours where you can. Pressure is lowest around 6–9 AM and 6–9 PM, so an appliance run then works harder for the same gas. Shifting the geyser outside those windows costs nothing.
  • Check the meter reading line every month and compare it with the meter itself. Two minutes a month is how estimated readings get caught.
  • Report a suspected leak immediately through the app — and if you can smell gas right now, do not use the app at all. Move away and call 1199 first. Our gas leak guide sets out the order of actions.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SSGC Customer Connect App free to use?

Yes. The app itself is free on both Android and iOS. You only pay the gas bill and whatever transaction fee your chosen payment channel charges — the app does not add a charge of its own.

Can I add more than one gas connection in the app?

Yes. You can save multiple customer numbers under one login, which is the practical reason to use the app if you look after more than one property — your own home, a parent’s house, a rented flat or a shop.

How do I get notifications about my bill?

Allow notifications when the app asks during installation. If you declined, turn them back on in your phone’s app settings. Once enabled you get alerts for new bills, due dates and service messages.

Can I pay my bill through the app?

Yes. The app connects to Easypaisa, JazzCash and online banking options. Always save the reference number until your next bill confirms the payment has cleared.

What if I forget my login password?

Use the Forgot Password link on the login screen. A reset link or code goes to the registered email address, which is why it is worth registering with an address you actually check.

Is the app the same thing as eBill registration?

No, they are separate and they work well together. The app is something you open when you want to look; eBill pushes the bill to you by SMS and email every month without you doing anything. Registering for both means you never miss a bill and can always pull a PDF.

In short

The SSGC Customer Connect App is a simple, fast and reasonably reliable way to manage a Sui gas connection from your phone. Checking the current bill, downloading the PDF, seeing what you used last winter and paying before the due date are all a few taps away, and the whole setup is a one-time five-minute job.

The single habit worth building on top of it: open the app once a month, glance at the amount, glance at the meter reading, and put the due date in your calendar. That is roughly two minutes, and it removes almost every unpleasant surprise a gas bill is capable of producing.
